Paper doll cut-out house depicting "La Maison du Forgeron." Épinal prints normally depicted popular subjects rendered in bright sharp colors and were sold in France in the 19th century. They owe their name to Jean-Charles Pellerin. The printing house Pellerin founded in 1796 was called, Imagerie d'Épinal.
