Pair of hand-colored 18th-century bookplate engravings featuring a pair of sparrows and thrushes. Unsigned. Plates 386 and 398 from the book Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux by Comte de Buffon, published in Paris between 1770-1786 with engravings by Francois Nicholas Martinet. Displayed in giltwood frames with off-white mats. Each image, 8"L x 10"H.
