As described by McNaught Fine Art

A period Impressionist-style oil of horses grazing in a clearing beside russet-colored autumn trees. Signed lower right "Caples" for Robert M. Caples (American, 1918-1996), a listed artist and painted circa 1975. Caples exhibited widely and was the recipient of numerous prizes and awards, including two gold medals from the California Art Club. (1976, 1977). Unframed.
