Why We Love This

Slovenly Peter (Struwelpeter) by Dr. Henry Hoffmann. Philadelphia: John C. Winston Co., no date. Hardcover with illustrated dust jacket, red cloth with gilt and black lettering and illustration, fully illustrated in color in the text. Cheerful stories and funny pictures for good little folks. Illustrations colored by hand after the original style. Dust jacket has a tiny closed tear and tiny chips at head and tail of spine, otherwise in very good condition.

About L. Brook Rare Books

I've been a dealer in rare books and art for over 30 years. I spent my early years training and providing animals for films, stage and TV. It was great fun, and evolved into a love for finding rare books and art, with a bias towards things "dog, horse and cat." I look for rarity, condition, and price when deciding which items to offer for sale. Uniqueness and value are what will drive my siteā€”and although my love of animals is obvious, I strive to offer items that are diverse and exciting.
