As described by McNaught Fine Art

A period Post-Impressionist style oil painting of a woman drying herself. Initialed lower left "O.M." for Carl Otto Muller (German, 1901-1970), a listed artist, and dated 1969. Using a delicate palette and elegant brushwork, Muller has created a work of great intimacy and charm. Inscribed on verso with artist's name, "Paris, 1969," and titled Der Rote Handtusch. Presented in the original water-gilt frame with ivory-silk liner and gilt slip. Painting, 8.75"H x 6.5"W.

About the Seller

McNaught Fine Art

A 1986 graduate of Christie's Fine Arts of London, I headed the fine art department of a West Coast auction house for three years before opening my own gallery in 1989. Every painting I represent is selected with care. I believe fine art to be an integral part of the fully-lived life, illuminating both our vision and our values for our children. As time passes, our paintings become heirlooms, enriched with our shared memories. Many things come and go. Art abides. —Anthony McNaught
