18th century copper engraving from the Vue De Paris series titled Vue De La Fontaine De Elephant, Sur La Place De La Bastille. Engraved by Madame Chéreau, widow of François Chéreau (1680-1729), official engraver to Louis XlV. Engraver's information lower left, A Paris Chez Alex Tessier, Suc. De Mme. Chéreau, Rue St. Jacques No. 10. Exquisitely framed with a marbled mat, ebony and giltwood frame with marble corner medallions.
