As described by Phyllis Lucas Gallery/Old Print Center

Depicting a young mother in a brilliant yellow hoop dress bidding farewell from her patio. This early 20th-century watercolor was probably an illustration for a Victorian novel. As the mother raises her kerchief in a gesture of farewell, her daughter glances back as her horse-drawn open carriage exits the stonewall gate.
