Why We Love This

Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1962. Fifth printing. A most important book, widely credited with launching the entire environmental movement and changing both public perception and reality. This work single-handedly inspired widespread concerns with pollution, facilitating the ban of DDT in 1972 in the USA. A very good copy, in a crisp, unclipped dust jacket.
