Why We Love This

Beautiful oil painting of Cypress Point in Monterey attributed to William Lemos, California. Signed "Wm L" bottom right. Born in New York on Aug. 8, 1861 and settled in Santa Cruz in 1896. When the original Beach Casino was built at the Boardwalk in 1904, Lemos was the first concessionaire and worked there for nearly 40 years. On his platform in the Casino he painted redwoods, forest fires, beach scenes, and marine scenes. Image, 30"H x 50"L.

About Robert Azensky Fine Art

A 1979 graduate of the University of California in aesthetic studies and fine art photography, I have spent many years photographing the California mountains and coast. I met Ansel Adams in 1979 at his Carmel studio and have been collecting California plein air paintings since 1986. I offer a wide variety of artists and genres and hope you enjoy my passion for paintings and sculpture.
