First edition. 130 pp. Hardcover with dust jacket. 69 reproductions with 49 tipped-in plates in color. Shapiro was the leading art writer and critic of his time. The book has slight toning at perimeters. The glue from the tipped-in plates has lightly stained several pages, and there is toning to endpapers.
About the Seller
Julie Goldman has been collecting books all her life. As a child, she spent many days haunting the used book stores on 4th Avenue in NYC with her father. Most collectors become booksellers out of necessity, and Goldman began selling about 15 years ago. The library lions are the pair of stone lions who guard the New York Public Library.
