Why We Love This

Van Gogh: Part of The Library of Great Painters by Meyer Shapiro. New York: Harry N. Abrams, 1950. First edition. 130 pp. Hardcover with dust jacket. 69 reproductions with 49 tipped-in plates in color. Shapiro was the leading art writer and critic of his time. The book has slight toning at perimeters. The glue from the tipped-in plates has lightly stained several pages, and there is toning to endpapers.

About librarylions

Julie Goldman has been collecting books all her life. As a child, she spent many days haunting the used book stores on 4th Avenue in NYC with her father. Most collectors become booksellers out of necessity, and Goldman began selling about 15 years ago. The library lions are the pair of stone lions who guard the New York Public Library. Their names are Patience and Fortitude. When you place an order with librarylions it will receive the attention and treatment it deserves.
