19th-century painting of Seine River in France by Emile Mathon, French (b. 1855). Mathon studied under Charles-François Daubigny, the most accomplished of the Barbizon School artists. Daubigny painted with Camille Corot, the most influential French landscape painter of the 19th-century.This painting is from the collection of Count Mariano de Murrieta. Mathon's works are in Musee le Havre and Musee de Dieppe. Displayed in original giltwood frame. Image, 19.5"L x 10"H.
