Why We Love This

Winnie-The-Pooh (1939), When We Were Very Young (1951) and Now We Are Six (1955) by A. A. Milne. London: Methuen. Later printings. A chance to enter the childhood world of Christopher Robin, in the original UK editions, illustrated by Ernest Shepard. All three books are unusual in still having the scarce jackets, with some damage to edges. Milne's uniquely charming homage to the privileged rituals of Edwardian nurseries, dominated by nanny and toys that come to life.
