Why We Love This

Part of a set of engravings featuring iconic views of New York. Printed in France, this view shows Park Row during the Civil War era, a period when many major newspapers were headquartered in the area. The New York Times Building was erected here in 1857-58 and later demolished in 1888-89. Barely visible in the background is St. Paul's Church. Published by Paris Etching Society and engraved in aquatint in 1938. Unframed.
