Why We Love This

The Machine Age in America 1918-1941 by Richard Guy Wilson, Dianne H. Pilgrim and Dickran Tashjian. New York: The Brooklyn Museum and Harry N. Abrams, 1986. 376 pp, with over 400 illustrations, including 55 color plates. An amazing collection of pictures and text that visually captures what American design was doing in the period between World War I and World War II, and is a fine copy in boards and dust jacket.

About Barbara Farnsworth

My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
