Why We Love This

1940 oil on canvas landscape titled Miami Beach by important artist NY expressionist Jennings Tofel (1891-1959). He was friends with Georgia O'Keefe and Alfred Stieglitz who helped him receive an art grant that allowed him to live and work in Paris in the 1920s. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian and Whitney Museum of American Art. Signed, lower left. Displayed in an antqiue wooden mitred frame with faux bois accents.
