Why We Love This

Elegant and mystical painting of a Californian misty mountain range by Clyde Eugene Scott (American, 1884-1959). Signed "Clyde Scott" lower left. He established his studio near Los Angeles at Chatsworth and took extensive painting trips into Arizona, Utah and throughout California. Active in the California Art Club, artists' organizations in Laguna Beach and Santa Monica and the Painters and Sculptors of Los Angeles. Label and titled on verso. Circa 1940. Unframed.

I met Ansel Adams in 1979 at his Carmel studio and have been collecting California plein air paintings since 1986.
