Why We Love This

Northanger Abbey, a novel, bound with Persuasion, both by Jane Austen. London: Richard Bentley Son, 1880. 429 pages. Frontispiece to the first work. Deep blue leather binding, tooled in gold leaf with attractive coat-of-arms on upper cover and highly decorative spine. Marbleized endpapers and spine, presentation bookplate from Cheltenham College, dated 1880. One illustration. A beautiful and rare copy of this early edition of two of Austen’s works.
