Why We Love This

Civita Castellana, not far from Rome, is renowned for its scenic gorges and Mt. Soratte, a favorite stop on the Italian itineraries for 18th and 19th-century French and English painters. Oil on canvas board by Rachel Newman, a founder and 20-year Editor-in-Chief of Country Living magazine. Newman has studied landscape painting in Tuscany for 15 years. She has also studied and shown at the Art Students’ League and the National Academy in New York. Signed lower right. Unframed.
