Why We Love This

Beautiful painting of a cabin in the Sierras, near a stream by Vladimir Pavlovich Shkurkin (American, 1900-1990). Shkurkin was born in northern China and educated in a military school in Siberia with art studies at the School of Fine Art in Kiev (1917-22). Upon immigrating to America in 1925, he moved to Seattle where he painted murals. He moved in San Francisco in 1938. Signed "V. Shkurkin" lower left, circa 1950. Unframed.

About Robert Azensky Fine Art

A 1979 graduate of the University of California in aesthetic studies and fine art photography, I have spent many years photographing the California mountains and coast. I met Ansel Adams in 1979 at his Carmel studio and have been collecting California plein air paintings since 1986. I offer a wide variety of artists and genres and hope you enjoy my passion for paintings and sculpture.
