Why We Love This

Abstract still life by Alfred McNamara (American, 1911 - 1994). McNamara was heavily influenced by John Sloane, Edward Hopper and others of the Ash Can School. He received his art training at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. In the 1960s and 1970s, he took several prizes in various group shows. He exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and at the Staten Island Museum of Art among others. Displayed in a molded and painted wood frame. Image, 26”W x 22”H.

About Jonathan Ross Gallery

The gallery philosophy is to acquire and offer only those unique works I admire and consider to be of exceptional value. The foundation for this is the expertise gleaned over 35 years in the business of buying and selling fine art, owning three New York City galleries, and exhibiting at major art fairs. We go forward with this tradition. Ars longa, vita brevis.
