The 17th century in Holland was a golden age of gardening and botanical illustration. Abraham Munting illustrated the plants within "Groningen's Paradise,” a garden owned by the Academy of Groningen. Each image is presented in a gesso frame painted black with a gold cartouche in each corner made in the 17th-century Italian tradition. The antique-style conservation board matte is acid free to Fine Art Trade Guild standard.
Each piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
About the Seller
The images which make up Trowbridge Vintage Collections come from Martin Trowbridge’s personal print archive, which he has built up over the past 30 years. Martin is an avid collector of copperplate engravings and has an impressive trove of more than 20,000 images locked away in the vaults at his London gallery.
