Why We Love This

Created in Scandinavia, this colorful vintage rya has a gradient mariner's compass medallion with geometric lines that are paired with a border of radiant roundels. The polychromatic borders feature a diverse selection of chestnut brown and sunshine yellow runes decorated with geometric patterns. The glowing field is surrounded by voided roundels, cruciform symbols and X-shaped details arranged in an abstract manner.

About Nazmiyal Collection

Jason Nazmiyal, owner of the Manhattan-based rug company that bears his name, has been buying and selling antique and vintage rugs for three decades. His goal is not merely to find and offer the finest handcrafted rugs—worthy though that goal is—but also to share his knowledge of and passion for the art form. His collection, which ranges from Moroccan runners to Swedish flat-weaves to antique Oushaks, shows that he continues to achieve both ambitions.
