Why We Love This

Woolf, Virginia. A Writer's Diary. London: The Hogarth Press, 1953. First edition. Jacket has loss to corners and top edge, age darkening to spine and edges. Otherwise, this is a clean copy of the first printing of this fascinating selection of Virginia's diaries from 1913 until her death in 1941, chosen by her husband, Leonard Woolf. The distinctive jacket art is by Vanessa Bell, who often worked at Charleston Farmhouse, as part of the Bloomsbury Group.
