Why We Love This

Golden Lucite door knob with deadlatch lock set by designer and builder Ruth Richmond. Ms. Richmond constructed nearly 12,000 homes in the Sarasota Florida area in the late 1950s to early 1970s. Her ranch style homes were built to accentuate the Southwest Florida lifestyle and her designs were truly innovative. She used unusual door hardware, plumbing and lighting fixtures that were a sign of the times. Today her custom-designed Lucite knobs are very sought after and hard to come by.

About Relique

At their online shop Relique, Rick Brandt and Mary Beth Voss showcase vintage and repurposed interior accents that are unique with history, texture, and soul. Their pieces are a cross-section of Then and Now and include Industrial Age designs as well as artisanal adaptations of classic treasures. Relique gives forgotten and ignored bits of history new life as display pieces, in the hopes that new generations will appreciate their past.
