Why We Love This

A masterpiece by Danish designer Poul Henningsen (PH). The PH Artichoke, created in 1958, is composed of 72 copper leaves which shield the light source from view and reflect light onto the underlying leaves, providing a distinct, uniquely soft illumination. Total drop 52"H, adjustable by changing the cord. Wired and in working condition.

About Metro Retro Furniture

Metro Retro Furniture was created quite by accident. Fifteen years ago, Joe Marcinkowski and his wife Laura lost their possessions when their Houston-area condominium burned down. Once they found a new home, they decided to refurbish in the Bauhaus style—then just kept collecting. Today their 7,000-square-foot store/warehouse stocks vintage midcentury pieces by Herman Miller, Knoll, and several internationally recognized designers.
