Why We Love This

Traditional Moroccan rugs were handwoven of all natural materials by Berber families in rural areas. Today many of these people make their living weaving rugs and selling them in local markets. As people’s tastes in the West have become more sophisticated, the popularity of these rugs is on the rise. This rug was hand-knotted 50 years ago in pure wool on a wool foundation.

About Silk Road Collection

The Silk Road Collection team has been collecting rugs from North Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East for nearly 40 years. We have cultivated deep relationships with village weavers, arts merchants, and manufacturers of antique-finish replicas of ancient designs, and now enjoy first right of refusal on many of the best pieces as they become available. We can bring you one-of-a-kind pieces that would be impossible to find even in a Persian or Moroccan bazaar.
