Why We Love This

Partial plate from the book Constructions Modernes and Economiques a comprehensive design guide for various building types, published by Monrocq (Paris,1880). Image is a colored lithograph of a stair elevation detail, rich in texture and rhythm. Note strong graphic image of rail balustrade and repetition of pattern in doors below. Frame is of a later date.

About Chez Vous

Captivated by decorative flourishes discovered while wheeling their toddlers’ strollers through European villages, architect Karen Dunning and husband Lee founded Chez Vous in 1996 to bring a bit of that aesthetic to American homes. Handpicked offerings range from fun and funky to lovely and semi-precious. Chez Vous definitely doesn’t take itself too seriously. This down-to-earth approach to hunting and gathering decorative treasures results in incredible finds at incredible prices.
