Scarlet Sails by Alexander Green (Grin), illustrated by Esta Nesbitt and translated from the Russian by Thomas P. Whitney, Charles Scribner's Sons, 1967. First published in 1923 in the Soviet Union, this classic Russian adventure novel became the basis of a ballet and a motion picture. Beautiful illustrations throughout by Esta Nesbitt.
