Why We Love This

Works of Shakespeare in 4 Volumes, Charles Knight (ed.) Undated, circa 1870. Two of the volumes state Imperial edition, but all four volumes appear to be from the same printing and set, with identical binding. Front covers are partial letter with gilt titles, page edges, and decorations. Spine has raised bands and gilt titles and decorations. Illustrated with many pages of steel cut engravings.

About Nick Harvill Libraries

California-based Nick Harvill Libraries specializes in out-of-print and rare books from the 20th century on fashion, design, art, social history, travel, Hollywood, and photography. NHL and its books have been profiled in Vogue, C Magazine, The Peak of Chic, Angeleno, Vogue Living, the Los Angeles Times, and American Express’s Black Ink Magazine. Elle Décor recommended NHL for its “hip vintage books” from a “smart young dealer.”
