Why We Love This

Still life with a bird and eggs in bowl by Gio Colucci (1892-1974). Signed lower right. Colucci was a painter but also worked in sculpture, ceramic, and glass. He arrived in France from Italy during the late 1920s and quickly became a major figure of the Parisian scene. Colucci also created an iconic ceramic torch image for the 1960 Olympics. Painting, 16''W x 17''L.

About Ilon Specht

When Ilon Specht was a creative director in NYC she alleviated the stress by collecting antiques. Constantly. "If it was beautiful, and I had a place for it, I bought it. And, if I didn't have a place for it, I bought it." Over the years, she used her finds to decorate. But, as much as she did, she couldn't decorate as fast as she could hunt and gather. So, in 2000, Hacienda was born, dedicated to the diversity of beauty. Run by Martin Sierra. And filled by Ilon.
