Beautiful pair of early-19th-century French octagonal creamware plates with beaded edge, hand-decorated with graceful stylized flowers. Impressed mark "Montereau" dates plates to 1800-'25. Hanging hardware included.

About Ilon Specht

When Ilon Specht was a creative director in NYC she alleviated the stress by collecting antiques. Constantly. "If it was beautiful, and I had a place for it, I bought it. And, if I didn't have a place for it, I bought it." Over the years, she used her finds to decorate. But, as much as she did, she couldn't decorate as fast as she could hunt and gather.
