Why We Love This

Brass mechanical corkscrew with locking collar design that was patented in 1891 by Heinrich Ehrhardt in Germany. The design has a locking collar with an elongated hole on the underside and a "nose" on the front. The elongated hole allows the handle "nose" to drop down when it's on the top of the shank. No maker's mark.
