Why We Love This

These beautiful appliques were made in France 100 years ago. They are truly amazing works of art, the pinnacle of the craft of passementerie. Each piece was handwoven like fine lace using tiny metal-covered threads. The flower-like crown is finished off with dangling bullion fringe, and their size is an impressive 6"H. With their old world patina, they will be a gorgeous addition to any vintage-themed home decor.

About Tinsel Trading Company

Tinsel Trading Company was founded in 1933 by Arch Bergoffen, who passed it on, along with his love for metallic trim, to his granddaughter Marcia Ceppos. We specialized in antique trims from France, but soon expanded to vintage adornments for garments and interior design, including flowers, tassels, ribbons, appliqués, passementerie and more. Based in the garment center in New York, we are presenting a curated selection from our archives.
