Why We Love This

Formed in 1872 near Zanesville, Ohio, Sam Weller had a dream to build "the largest pottery in the world" and achieved that goal in 1906. This early 1910-19 "Arts Crafts" tri-handled pot comes from the "Fruitone" line. Weller blended rose lime green colored glazes and applied them in a streaked, drip manner. The exterior of the pot resembles the skin of a ripening apple; hence the name - Fruitone. This extremely rare item was bottom incised "Weller" but only the "R" remains visible today.
