Why We Love This

Vintage quilt, circa 1930. A favorite pattern of advanced quilters in the 1920s and 30s, this design was more commonly pieced from whimsical pastel prints. Here, solid colors, appliquéd rather than pieced, elevate this piece to a higher level of artistry, with a focus on the interlocking circles. One is reminded of the Olympics symbol of unity and friendship. Outstanding quilting in waffle and feather patterns. Published, Quilt Engagement Calendar.
