As described by
Known as "palace" dhurries, these beautifully woven cotton dhurries were made for grand rooms of rajahs and high officials or to order for British colonials. The background is a lovely light denim blue. An identical dhurrie appears in The Unappreciated Dhurrie, by David Black, 1982. The book includes a 1907 photo of weavers making a dhurrie with this design at a jail in Bombay. Dovetailed-tapestry weave.
