As described by French 50s 60s

The image on this mirror memorializes WW I hero William Barker, an RAF ace fighter and Victoria Cross recipient. In 1918, while flying alone, Barker encountered sixty enemy aircrafts. He shot down four despite serious wounds and remarkably landed behind British lines. The mirror depicts Barker's bi-plane flanked by enemy aircraft; "British Ace William Barker," and "World War I Sopwith Camel," is written below. The mirror is framed in beveled wood stained brown and painted gold around the image.

French 50s 60s

For the past three decades, Galerie Sommerlath and French 50s 60s owner Michele Sommerlath has been an art and antiques dealer with a specialty in American and European Mid-Century Modern design. Born in France, she spent the early part of her youth in Morocco before moving back to Paris. She credits both countries with informing her taste for design and color. Her approach to curation is intuitive: She buys what she loves. Her current passion is revisiting and refreshing 1980s design.
