An unusual French wicker basket from the Champagne region and used to carry bottles of champagne out of the cellars. It is very sturdy with partitions to prevent the bottles from rattling together. Antique heart-shaped cheese mold originally made for the manufacture of Neufchatel cheese. It is made of porcelain and has an unusual and early base. This piece is unusual in that it does not have the drain holes. The underside shows the pattern of the holes which were never punched. It was probably to display cheese rather than a working piece. Neufchatel cheese is one of the oldest cheeses made in France dating back to the 6th century. Found near the home of Neufchatel cheese in Normandy.

The cage is made of zinc coated steel and is on a wrought iron base similar to those of bistro tables. The cage is easily removable from the base for table top use or to be hung by the large top loop. It was found with dozens of coats of paint and was professionally cleaned to its original surface as you see it.

On this one the sharp end was pushed through the cork and then the needle shaped piece was withdrawn using the wooden handle leaving the valve assembly in place. The needed Champagne was then poured from the bottle through the valve which was then closed preserving the bubbles in the rest of the bottle.

An extremely rare Swedish cast iron plant stand with a cast iron frame which will accommodate seven pots over a drip tray and planter consisting of a zinc pan with cast iron decoration on its perimeter. It is made in three parts: the upper pot holder, the tray, and the footed base. All of the parts retain its original green painted surface which has uniformly oxidized to a wonderful mat finish. It is the only known form of this type in cast iron and may be a unique surviving example.

It probably retains its original green paint with slight gold highlights which is unusual in that these tables are usually found with several layers of later paint. This table was probably used inside for most of its life resulting in its amazing state of preservation. It was found in Paris.
