Pair of early-19th-century painted metal standing urns filled with bouquets of stylized flowers. Most likely French or Italian, these “dummy” urns would be placed behind the buckets of fresh cut flowers to give the appearance of a fuller flower market stall. Hand-painted in a grisaille color scheme, one is a bit more detailed than the other. Soldered to stands, one is missing the added support bar, both stand well on their own. Light wear. No maker's mark.
