Majolica glazed spill vase from the Staffordshire pottery region of England, circa 1860. Molded as a woman’s hand holding an upright ear of corn in a green husk with a pink interior. The base is formed as a lace cuff. Popular during the Victorian era for holding posies or spills. Spill vases have a cylindrical holder for containing splints or rolled paper tapers called spills, for transferring fire to light a candle or a pipe from a hearth fire. Light wear to the upper rim.

A turquoise basketweave ground with a raised geometric pattern of fan shapes and florals, and a scalloped rim. In the center is a naturalistically modeled and hand-painted Chestnut tree leaf with slight variations in color. Impressed markings on the versos. Light areas of glaze loss to high points due to age and use.

Isle of Man teapot, William Brownfield & Sons, commissioned as a novelty item by the W. Broughton China Rooms on Duke Street, Douglas, Isle of Man, dating from 1875 to 1890. A three-legged Manx sailor in uniform sits on a coiled rope that loops over his shoulder to form a handle, a third leg forms the spout and his head forms the lid. On his collar is molded the Isle of Man symbol.The base is molded in relief: W Broughton Douglas Isle of Man. Chip to the neck of the cover, unseen when seated.

Aesthetic Movement French faïence asparagus plate, Keller & Guerin St. Clément, circa 1880. A border of Bleeding Hearts, or as they are called in France, Coeurs de Marie, flower heads encircle three asparagus spears that divide the plate into three sections, a part for the spears, one for sauce, and a part for waste. Maker's mark on the underside.Some darkening stains on the parts of the rim.
