Why we love this

A high-caliber print of the iconic original work by Katsushika Hokusai, a Japanese artist of the Edo period. Hokusai is best known as creator of the woodblock print series "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji," which includes this famed print, "The Great Wave at Kanagawa," created during the 1820s. Rooted in the Japanese tradition of depicting scenes of famous places, Hokusai invented strikingly new compositions. The piece is set in a contemporary wood frame, with gold- and silver-colored molding that sets the work off beautifully.
