Why We Love This

Created in 1900 by Alphonse Mucha, this publicity postcard was published by the same Italian company as the famous “Chocolate Amatller, Barcelona” done in 1899. Mucha, a renowned Czech painter and graphic artist, was an influential figure of the Art Nouveau movement. His illustrations of beautiful belle époque women exhibit the flowing, sinuous lines and organic forms characteristic of Art Nouveau.
