Oil on canvas by Raymond Besse depicting the Parisian neighborhood of Clignacourt. Besse a French painter born in 1899 arrived on the Parisian art scene in 1916. He exhibited at the prestigious Salon des Independents in 1923. His subjects were drawn from Paris at its neighborhoods. He also painted numerous Normandy landscapes. This oil on canvas is housed in its original frame. Signed lower right. Original label and inscription on back.
