Gabby Malpas creates joyful, intricate watercolor works. Locally grown flowers and fruits picked nearby are rendered with tender warmth, often borrowing from the delicate aesthetics of Chinese ceramics and Southeast Asian batik fabrics. She works on high-quality art paper which she sometimes stitches together to add texture. Gabby trained as a ceramicist in New Zealand and has lived for many years in the UK. She now resides in Sydney, Australia.
