Archive New York is a collection of handwoven, artisan made home textiles, founded in 2014 by Amira Marion. At Archive, our philosophy is to honor the integrity of Mayan artisanal craft techniques while committing ourselves to Fair Trade principles. We begin the design process by hunting down the most beautiful and rare vintage fabrics we can find; then we connect with the artisans in the village where they originated.
Why we love this
Vintage tzute featuring a special thread dyeing technique called jaspe (ikat) from Totonicapan, Guatemala. Tzutes are multi-purpose cloths and can be used as a tablecloth, wall hanging, shawl, and most traditionally, a carrying cloth. Minor wear.
