Oil on board by Rene Clarot dated 1925. Clarot a Belgian artist attends the Brussels Academy of Fine Art between 1896 and 1905 where he studies under Herman Richir and Constant Mortal. He is well known for his knife palat technique. He spends 20 years of his life in Blankenberge a famous Belgium sea town. He gains notoriety as a marine painter. This oil depicting most probably Brussels is housed in its original frame. Signed lower right.
