Why we love this
French asparagus and artichoke plate, circa 1890. The plate is rimmed in a bittersweet red, asparagus spears lay across the plate glazed with dark lavender tips. A deep sauce well is formed by the globe-shaped artichoke head surrounded by a swirl of stylized leaves. Book Reference: pg. 95 , “Artichauts et Asperges en Barbotine” by Maryse Bottero. Impressed Terre de Feu ‘R’ stamped: St. Armand & Hamage Nord with the Windmill mark.
