Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this
Autobiography by A.A. Milne. E.P. Dutton, 1939. First edition. 315 pages. No jacket. The creator of Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin and friends brings his charming style to his own story as a student and aspiring young writer. Tight, solid binding with clean text. Sunning on top of cover; light, even page tanning; prior owner's bookplate.
