Why we love this
Pair of 18th-Century English Delft plates. Circa 1760, they are attributed to Lambeth, Abigail Griffiths. They are hand painted in cobalt blue and white with a chinoiserie landscape design. These faience plates have a house, trees, a lake, birds, fence and a double geometric border. They are painted in the Chinese style - at this time the Delft potters were imitating real Chinese export porcelain with wares like these. . No maker's mark.
