Why we love this
An English Champagne tap dating from the end of the 19th century. This model is unusual in that very few taps have a "T" shaped handle. To use it the valve was closed and then the handle was used to pierce through the cork of a Champagne bottle, one thorough the valve was opened and the wine could be poured a glass at a time through the spout which has a very nice cast dolphin head at it terminus. When the valve was closed the bubbles remained in the bottle.
